First test shots of the Zeiss Jena Sonnar 5cm F1.5 (from 1937).

I have to admit that i was not expecting sharp results wide open from a lens that is 81 years old.

And was also expecting crazy swirly bokeh that many don't like.

But these results are very impressive and pleasing to me.

Can't wait to keep testing the lens in different situations, on other camera bodies, and with different films as well.

All until my Contax II (1937) comes back from CLA.

Hi, Dirk,

Since the MM1 has a CCD sensor and therefore no LiveView or EVF, how have you been framing the 280 APO-Telyt-R's pictures and focussing?  Or are you using a Visoflex?

Pete.

Hi Pete,

it is not the APO-Telyt R it is the Telyt V 4.8/280mm. And yes, I'm using the Visoflex III.
