I just snapped this photo of no particular merit while experimenting with an older lens: a 21mm C Biogon F:/4.5 mounted on an M-8; a Zeiss CSC filter was used.  The photo was taken with no sharpening turned on, zero cropping and no PP except for full image levels in photoshop. The M-8 was set w/lens detection off.  Regards, Ron

A while back, I'd seen this video about Harry Müller : vimeo.com/93575779

and managed to meet him recently when in Santiago Chile .

Cheers, Jean-Marc.

Don't you love it when you take a shot and it comes out perfect straight from the camera?  Especially when experimenting with an older lens.  Thanks for posting.

Yes, now I can confidently use it with the M-8 without being damned to endless IR related correction.  The Zeiss filter, although a little pricey (about 250 USD if I remember correctly) does do its job. The lens is much easier to lug around than a retrofocus.  Regards, Ron

Playing around with an old Contax II and Tessar 2.8/50mm uncoated I made some shots using an adapter and compared with Elmar 3.5/50 mm (M-Mount)

Elmar first

Tessar, both at f 5.6 without much post-processing

Tessar 2.8/50 mm uncoated at f 5.6 and some post-processing, the Tessar shows some slight haze but is still a sharp lens which can be tweked to a more modern look.
