@toodys

In your third picture in the sequence above, neither the (Sony) NEX5N nor the (Wollensak) Velostigmat 1;4.5 F=9cm were made by Leica so they do not qualify to be posted on this forum or in this thread.

PLEASE take care not to contravene the forum's clear rules, which places this 12,500-post thread at risk of being deleted.

Pete.

Surely the Leitz New York Wollensak Velostigmat lenses are very much Leica lenses. Barrels supplied by Leitz and optical unit by Wollensak, assembled by Leitz New York due to the unavailability of German lenses in the immediate post war period. They are in all the specialist Leica collecting books and have Leitz codes words. If you exclude them then you should exclude any not made in the town of Wetzlar such as Portugal or Canada.

Thank you for clarifying the matter, Pyrogallol, and my apology to Toody.  I'm not familiar with Wollensak lenses or the above history and I agree that under the 'weight of evidence' a Moderator would need to allow pictures made with a Wollensak Velostigmat lens, so my mistake.

Leica Lens Nerds will probably know who put them together and what he had for breakfast.
