1955 5cm Nikkor f1.4 on M3 and Wolfen 500 negative film

A good one, definitely worth a re-post...😉

The subject below is not new either.

M10P ASC + 1987 LZOS Jupiter-9 85/2, wide open @ MFD and ISO 6400. This copy was made towards the very end of the J-9 four decades production lifetime. Far from being a good lens (earlier copies are better), but it sports a sleek black aluminium barrel and is proudly marked "Made in USSR"... Also, it is in Kiev (Contax) mount. I use it with an Amedeo adapter, as I have never found a J-9 in LTM that would focus reliably across the range, shimmed or not.

Shot earlier today !

Comparing two 35 f1.8 Nikkor RF lenses at f1.8 on a M10-P .

The original 35mm f1.8 W-Nikkor LTM from 1956 and the 2005 reissue originally in Nikon S mount  converted to Leica  M mount  by Chris Andreyo / Skyllaney.

1956 LTM:

2005 M converted:

LTM:

2005 M converted:

This 2005 reissue lens had already been converted in LTM by Miyazaki in 2005 but was never accurately  RF coupled . It is now !

All shot handheld , both lenses are very clean optically and actually very close in their rendering .

Cheers, JM

From a lens that's a bit of an oddity. Apparently part of a small batch made shortly after the war.

2005 reissue 35 W-Nikkor 1.8 converted to LTM on M6 Millenium and Ektar 100

One may note the darker vertical band left of frame ... an issue on M6 TTL cameras that Leica never managed to fix, at least on 2 M6 Millenium cameras I had the chance to use ...

Best

Same set up as above photo.    This picture surprised me how it renters 3D effect on film.  I am still exploring the merits of this lens.  Will shoot more digitally to find out when I get back from traveling.
