@Ray Vonn, thanks for posting the photo of the Spillers Millenium Mills, it reminded me I had a previously unpublished photo from that building taken in 2014 from the other side of the water that fits perfectly in this thread.

And in turn thanks to you, pegelli, for posting that photograph from 2014. I was down there(*) a few months ago and took many snaps of the buildings and the ships. I'll be particularly interested to see what changes have been made to the S.S.Robin - the Victorian-era Tramp Steamer aboard the floating pontoon - in the intervening 8 years. This whole area is now part of a £3.5 Billion redevelopment scheme.

Incidentally the brown building to the left of the Spllers place is the old Hovis Bread Mill.

Philip.

Thanks for chipping in @pippy, I didn't do so as I feared the wrath of taking the thread sideways (but can now hide behind you😂).  Yes, @pegelli, it is a fine place to be if you have a camera and are looking to take images, including the overhead footbridge which is quite wonderful on a clear day as the sun sets, so all in all, I'm very pleased it moved you to dig out some images.  And while I was there again only three weeks ago, an action film was being filmed in the docks, speedboats racing back and forth.
