Exactly, I bought the only 2005 35 1.8 W-Nikkor I could find a few years ago and it had been converted to LTM by Miyazaki . Welcome, dear visitor! Best , JM How do you find it compared with the ltm version? Same rendering with multicoating? And does Miyazaki still do those conversions? It’s certainly one of the most amazing lenses ever made for rangefinders.

Compared to the 1956 LTM and S versions, I find it more modern (contrast, saturation, sharpness) . The downside is the longer focus throw and Nikkor focussing direction if you're used to the LTM version . I read on dedicated threads on RFF (rangefinder forum) that Miyazaki had converted a couple of these 2005 35 W Nikkor 1.8 S lenses . I bought it from a photographer without any conversion papers. You're correct, Miyazaki's LTM conversion was done on a couple of 2005 35/1.8 S mount lenses. The rear-shroud element is protruding excessively to allow mounting the Amedeo adapter or any other Nikon S to Leica M adapter. Some other older original 35/1.8 S mount lenses have been modified to Leica M mount recently : https://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2748597&postcount=357 Best, JM

Maybe I’ll settle for a 35/2.5 in LTM mount. A lot less pricey, but not as special. 🙂

According to some people , they share a similar design with the Nikkor 35 1.8: https://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164051&highlight=35+nikkor+1.8 I had the UC Hexanon and regret selling it. 35 UC Hexanon f2 LTM on M240: Welcome, dear visitor! Pyrogallol Posted April 23, 2020 Share #5700 Posted April 23, 2020 While there is some discussion about Nikon lenses. I have found a source of the elusive external bayonet Nikon S back lens caps.
