JVToronto Posted October 3, 2017 Share #3481 Posted October 3, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Two examples from the last roll of Acros100 that I put through my (underused) IIIg and Elmar 5cm f3.5, both circa 1956/57. Really should take it out and about more often, after all it really is 'pocket-able'. I like the top picture of the lighthouse, very classic.

james.liam Posted October 5, 2017 Share #3484 Posted October 5, 2017 There's something so-so with these color images and old glass. B&W is a different story.
Ecar Posted October 6, 2017 Share #3485 Posted October 6, 2017 James, Interesting. What is it that bothers you (besides subject and composition, of course) in color images taken with old glass? Low contrast? Color fidelity? Bear in mind that the heavy compression required to meet the forum rules affects the perception of color more than that of B&W. Monitor calibration may also play a role. Color fidelity and chromatic aberrations. Something about modern sensors and these older lenses. Maybe because the glass technology was geared to B&W or hadn't caught up to the available color emulsions. I don't know. Something always seems to my eye, for want of a better word, slightly "off".

pico Posted October 8, 2017 Share #3489 Posted October 8, 2017 (edited) Ah, Kodachrome. Brings a tear to the eye... In tears. A friend of mine was a National Geographic photographer and of course a Kodachrome user. He shot to 1/4 of an ƒ-stop. I asked him how the devil he did that, "Because I have to." he replied. Oh, he was exclusively a Leica M user. Edited October 8, 2017 by pico

Guest JMF Posted October 10, 2017 Share #3495 Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) Hi, Jeffo, I didn't know that there was more than one version of the very rare Konoka 60/1.2 Hexanon-M. Pete. Hi Pete, I believe both versions of the 60 1.2 Konica Hexanon are in LTM mount : A comparing test with pictures here: http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2013/01/07/clash-of-the-titans-the-ultimate-leica-m-super-fast-5060-lens-battle-by-kristian-dowling/ The more common 50 1.2 Konica Hexanon is in M mount. Cheers, JM. Edited October 10, 2017 by JMF
