I always wondered which wide lens would match the beauty of a 50mm CZJ lens and I have not yet found the perfect match. From the wide lenses I have used, the closest to a match I like so far is the 35/2 Summicron v1 (8-element), although it doesn't even come close in how it renders the beautifully natural transition from sharp details in focus to out of focus backgrounds. Anyone want to share a matching 35mm lens? A vintage Biogon 35/2.8 maybe? I have a 1952 Jupiter-12 that is actually a 1943 Biogon, as per the SN of the inner optics module. This 1977 Jupiter-12 is very close to it, Jupiter-12 Test Images by fiftyonepointsix, on Flickr Wide-open on the M9. I had to change out the shim on this one, the focus was WAY off when received. This lens has Zeiss serial numbers internally and a Russian name ring. The early J-12's have German optics, but the RF Cam on some will jam up on a Leica. I got lucky, this one did need the shim replaced as well- was way off when received. Probably explains why it has perfect glass.
