It appears that neither image was focused right according to my 20 20 vision.

20 20 vision is not really a gold standard as I understand it.

Regardless, both images are well focused to my eyes. What you are probably seeing is ISO 3200 film shot wide open at night. Perfectly fine considering those limiting parameters.

Then there is the issue of focusing a 111f in this situation. If you have ever done it, you will know what I am saying.

ERL, my suggestion please have your eyes tested, PLEASE. :p:)

Thanks for the advice, but it is a bit late. I have had it done last month. My eyes are currently rated better than 20/20, which I have already stated is not 'the gold standard'.

I can only reiterate my original explanation(s) of what we are seeing in those pics. Under those circumstance the images are fine. remember, it is, or should be, about the image, not the techicality, which is also up to scratch in the given circumstances.

The real bottom line is that the poster likes them enough to share them. That is the last word IMO.

I really like the rendering of this lens and the B&W conversion seems similar to the Summaron 35/2.8.

Yes, I have a 35/3.5 LTM Summaron and find it quite similar in its B&W rendering to the 28 Summaron 5.6 LTM .

35 Summaron 3.5 LTM + M8:

After perusing most of the posted images taken with old, older, and some very old Leica lens "I can now fully understand why Leica keeps up dating their lens." It may be some of the posted images were posted by individuals who haven't got the nack of posting properly or that they have not learned proper posting techniques.

Stan,

Please stop trying to distract this wonderful thread with your criticisms about focussing.

Pete.

Pete, if you don't care about focusing images with old, older, and very old, Leica lens then BLUR everything. BTW FOCUSING is it spelled with two S in the mother country?:p

Please post your pictures instead of pointless critics just for the sake of it.

Thanks,

Bruno

Pete, "Live and let spellllling" Winston Churchill wouldn't appreciate your English spelling. What do I know after all I live in the old colonies. ;) Stan
