The OP does not suggest the thread is only for the V1 types so maybe you should post your V II images.

I'm thinking of buying a First gen A7 just for my Leica Summilux-R 1:1,4/80mm 

 

Should be a good combination; R lenses especially the longer focal lengths can produce fine images with Sony A series - provided you can focus OK . However, I could not get on with a Sony A7R (shutter vibration … colleague's A7 worked better ) so sold it and bought a s/h A7S … which promises to be superb for low light imaging now that I have the settings optimised.

I mostly use the Leica S now a days, but I miss the look of the R1.4/80mm so have been thinking of a 'cheap' solutions to be able to use the lens again. I still use it sometimes on my R8 with film.

I bought a basic A7 body just for my old SLR lenses, and it does very well with the R lenses. They seem a bit big on the A7, but performance is good.

Very few lenses could achieve this with aperture wide open. Many give dreamy pictures. They have to step down for one or two clicks to give such a sharp photo.

Indeed, and no sharpening nor clarity were added in Lightroom.

The large aperture gives it the advantage in night shooting.

I miss all my Leica R glass. Most the 19 the 80 and 80-200.

Wish they would have a possibility like Nikon with their Df.
