Guest JMF Posted November 29, 2018 Share #41 Posted November 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have recently bought the e60 Summilux 50 R v2 . I don't have the v1 e55 anymore to compare directly. My v1 was a good user and not that sharp at f1.4. i have never tried an other sample. The v2 I have now is mint and is sharper wide open than the v1 I had, with a slightly colder feel to the color rendering . The v2 is heavier, bigger than the v1 yet I don't mind as I prefer its rendering, having shot both on the SL. Overall it is a subjective choice , YMMV . 50 R Summilux v2 on SL: Welcome, dear visitor! Your photographs look very good. Rendering of the E60 reminds me the LUX-M 50 f1.4 Asph. (latest version) which I stopped using.. This similarity seems obvious in your second and third photos. Yes, they are sharp, nearly have perfect colour accuracy, relatively good bokeh. But I think the E55 produces better glow and bokeh, softer image which I like more, though. As you underlined in your post this is a personal taste.. Many thanks once agin for your wonderful uploads... ramarren Posted November 30, 2018 Share #43 Posted November 30, 2018 I have a bunch of photos made with the Summilux-R 50mm f/1.4, using the Sony A7, Leica SL, Leica M-P 240, and Leica CL bodies available for viewing on flickr. Here's a search link to them, if you're inclined to look: flickr.com — GDGPhotos with Summilux-R 50mm f/1.4 enjoy!

darylgo Posted August 29, 2022 Share #45 Posted August 29, 2022 Reviving this thread, the 50/1.4R ver.1 and 2 (not the last one with e60 filters), is similar to ver. 1 and 2 of the 50/1.4M. The R has a glow that is beautiful. This image is straight out of camera, Leica SL 50/1.4R @ f1.4. Welcome, dear visitor! darylgo Posted August 29, 2022 Share #46 Posted August 29, 2022 The Thambar look is very difficult to duplicate. With the 50/1.4R has been my most successful attempt so far. Highly processed.
