Was the pressureplate damaged?

I wasn't going to wait months for Leica Germany to find out. I traded them back in to the place I purchased them from. In my case, I think it was the film release levers not fully engaging to release the film – there was always too much tension on the film when rewinding. But it could have been a different issue with each, IDK.

Because I sacrificed a new roll of film through each of them and then pulled the film immediately out of the canisters – scratches.

The scratches weren't on just one roll of film nor one film type nor one film manufacturer, but many: CineStill, Kodak, and Fuji.

Did you clean the camera (  it was just the M-A or other cameras too?)  with a blower before you sacrificed the new film?
what did Leice say about it?

I addressed this in another post – didn't want to deal with Leica Germany taking a month to sort it out. Of course I tried a blower. Of course I checked the surface of the pressure plates. Could be the M4-P CLA replaced the pressure plate with one of those from same bad batch that they admit they've been using (per Huss's thread about his M6 scratching).

Let's not derail this thread and turn it into another one about scratched film. Send me a private message instead so I can ignore it!

No problem derailing this thread a little imho, it’s long enough so it will be on track in no time☺️.

I appologise for any inconvenience.

Certainly not! I have been buying silver lenses exclusively since I got my first Leica at the age of 36 🙂

All my 12+ cameras are black, including all lenses, and I was never interested in silver versions. But recently, silver becomes more and more appealing to me.

Yeah, it's not necessarily age, but at some point the desire for silver hits many of us 👶📷👴

I found a silver 35 f/2 ASPH v1 to pair with the 50 Cron, and it should arrive tomorrow.

Definitely an age thing - the desire for one's camera gear to match the color of their hair.

Is it generally harder to find silver lenses than black ones?
