Sell M to get M10?

Right. But you forget to mention that the present M9 sensor is corrosion-proof. Has been for a while, so it is hard to see why a camera would need a sensor replacement every 3-4 years. Mine, BTW, still has its original sensor from 2009.No sign of corrosion.

My M9 had its sensor replaced a few years ago - probably 6 months before the "permanent fix" became available - and it is showing the first signs of corrosion once again. Living near the sea might be the problem as all 3 of my CCD Leicas have required new sensors. But it does wear one down emotionally, especially when a new camera is in the wings.

Sure, I'll send it in again and keep it when it comes back 4 months later, but I'd like to have another color M style camera in place before then.

Would you sell Leica M 240 in perfect condition planning to buy M10? I have look at SL but rejected it, as I want to use M lenses on M body. Yes, I know we do not know what the M10 specification going to be, but lets assume that it will have a SL sensor and T viewfinder and no video that I am not interested in anyway. Thank you.

A valid question, and the best choice depends not only not the actual M10 improvements that may be available, but also on the "equity" hit your trade will cost you.  I agree that having the SL's and Q's Maestro II sensor, and an improved viewfinder similar to the SL's, would be a huge positive for me. Next, I'd need to look at the equity loss of my current M's trade-in or sale, verses the cost of the new M10. This is all speculative right now, but I would also consider trading up to gain the SL's sensor and viewfinder, if those 2 things were to be in the new M10.

Well said!!! ....Drat,  Now even I'm considering an M10.
Lets see how the financial end shakes out.

You know they are going to price it right on the line,

..... giving us an incentive to jump.

OK fine I hope they do.

What's your M9's firmware? Most likely Leica did put a new sensor into your camera that is not the one w/ firmware 1.204.
