nickd Posted November 24, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted November 24, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. I bought a used, but excellent quality Summilux 50mm ASPH at a very good price. Beautiful lens, glass and barrel in near mint condition. Unfortunately, there are some minor scratches on the very end of the lens hood, and the "silver" underneath is showing through. Whilst these scratches obviously don't affect functionality, they will annoy me. Can anyone recommend the easiest and most permanent way to cover these scratches - best type of paint to use, etc. Â Any advice would be appreciated. FlashGordonPhotography Posted November 24, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted November 24, 2016 Model aircraft paint should provide a match. Â Personally I wear the marks on all my Leica gear with pride. Â Gordon

lct Posted November 24, 2016 Share #4 Â Posted November 24, 2016 If you don't need a perfect fix a mere permanent marker can do the job quite well.
spydrxx Posted November 24, 2016 Share #5  Posted November 24, 2016 I occasionally use flat black spray paint....whatever is cheapest. Just need to mask off whatever you don't want spray on, and use clean sweeping strokes.

jaapv Posted November 29, 2016 Share #7 Â Posted November 29, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Replacing the lens hood on this lens is not a vastly expensive operation. I would call Leica CS in your place if it really annoys you (no matter how minor).
