Yes! Edward that is my thinking now!

I can stop drooling over the M (now that the rumor is turning to fact in a few hours)...

And I will begin waiting on the rumored QL that was sketchily introduce a few pages back!

It sounds like exactly what many of us have asked for.. so it couldn't possibly be true...

It will prevent me from breaking the credit card out for the rest of the year though... possibly!

I could be wrong, but the QL seems to be almost a certainty. It's coming for sure.

Or you can wait for the QL, which I believe will give you all the advantages of the SL in a smaller package.

Hi Edward.

What is the QL? Like some kind of mini SL (no rangefinder?)

I too wanted the M240 to be the one but I think it did end up as jack of all trades, master of none. It's not so good for R lenses

It is a mini SL, QL is the code name around here. It seems it's already in the works, and someone mentioned, I think dkmoore, it will be announced in the spring.

I don't want to be the 2000th but, yesss, the one to send the last smile: a new camera, with manual rangefinder, electronic rangefinder and....... focus peaking rangefinder!!!!! :D .

Francisco.

Fujifilm GFX and Leica M10 are in different leagues.

Leica M10 is for who admires high quality compact lenses on compact body that gives a manuel focus photography pleasure.

Fujifilm GFX is a beast compared to M10.

If Fujifilm creates a full frame rangefinder , it would be a threat to M series.

Leica SL is compared to Hasselblad X1D, and GFX may be compared to SL , but M is a different story, just pricewise similarity.

But....

The SL became an alternative to the M for some photographers who reported that once they had the SL they started using SL lenses more than M lenses on it.

So, if the SL is an alternative to the M, and the GFX is an alternative to the SL....

They are all easily portable high-quality cameras after all. I am certainly considering the X1D and GFX as alternatives to an M. Just as, at another point on the price scale, the Fuji X-Pro 2 is an alternative to an M.

Not everyone will be able or willing to invest in multiple systems so despite their obvious differences, these cameras all compete with each other. They each have unique strengths so none is definitively superior.
