lct Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1601 Posted January 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) If the US price would be 10% higher than that of the M240 in the US it could well be 10% higher elsewhere as well. Would make around EUR 7,100.00 for the body only including 20% VAT. Do not feel compelled to follow my advice nor to bookmark this post though . Advertisement Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Hi lct, Take a look here Leica M 10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adli Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1602 Posted January 13, 2017 So the Canon and Nikon should be quoted in Yen? Dollars are misleading, as currencies vary. Compare prices by the currency of the country of manufacture.
Peter H Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1603 Posted January 13, 2017 So the Canon and Nikon should be quoted in Yen? No, but you can't compare their prices from one year to the next in US$ without taking into account the exchange rate can you? The fact that both Canon and Nikon are originally priced in Yen means that they are subject to the same exchange rate fluctuations, so it's not a quieten of comparing Canon with Nikon. They are subject to the same price differentials which are not necessarily anything to do with the pricing policy of the companies. But because Leicas are made in Europe they are subject to different exchange rate fluctuations from Canon and Nikon, so their relative prices change differently. I haven't really made that any clearer have I?
imants Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1604 Posted January 13, 2017 That's all good but a camera bought in US dollars takes better photos than one bought in euros
mmradman Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1605 Posted January 13, 2017 That's all good but a camera bought in US dollars takes better photos than one bought in eurosNothing beats photos mad by camera paid in pounds, all that pain and anxiety.
lct Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1606 Posted January 14, 2017 Not that i am much interested for now but the EVF will be significantly improved i believe.
rramesh Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1607 Posted January 14, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there a 36MP CCD Dalsa sensor rumor embedded in these 81 pages?
jaapv Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1608 Posted January 14, 2017 I know it is not a Leica mentality, but for my use the EVF2 is good enough, warts and all. If that is the only significant upgrade, with a modestly better sensor, the price differential will be very high. Cosmetic differences would not make any difference to photography. The real question is: has Leica done something interesting to the viewfinder?
jaapv Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1609 Posted January 14, 2017 Is there a 36MP CCD Dalsa sensor rumor embedded in these 81 pages? AFAIK the highest resolving FF Dalsa CCD is the FTF7046M which is a 32MP mono sensor.

jaapv Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1611 Posted January 14, 2017 It still is no 36 MP rumour I don't think it can drive LV and EVF.

ynp Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1613 Posted January 14, 2017 I have just visited the leakers Instagram account if there is any news. In the comment section, he gave information about the price and the weight of the M10. The weight given is 550 gram and the price is around 7650 dollars, but I am not sure if it is the USD or AUD, because the location is Australia. When I check the rate on Google, it gives me 5742 USD for 7650 AUD. Of course 7650 USD is more logical if we think Leica pricing The interesting part is that he LIKED the " nice HYBRID VIEWER!!! " comment. We cannot conclude the existence of the hybrid viewfinder with this like, but we can continue to hope till the 18 th. Jan. price_m10.jpg weight_m10.jpg As far as the Hybrid viewfinder is concerned, the thai text of the answer says : another three years.
rramesh Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1614 Posted January 14, 2017 if this is really what is on the horizon then I am truly disappointed , and in some sense happy that I really do not need to rush and put an order in I really dislike the ISO wheal on the top it looks bad. For Leica to call it a M10, it must be truly revolutionary. If it's not on the outside, then the inside will be a fabulous reveal.

If they call it M10 then it will be because marketing dept realized that "typ" naming was a bad move. Number 10 is just another in sequence (IMHO). mmx_2 Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1616 Posted January 14, 2017 "The world's smallest (-3.8mm) and lightest (550g) full frame digital camera"?! Wasn't that one of the strongest selling points of the M9? Although I'm also not very impressed so far (based on all the rumours) this can actually convince quite a few buyers. I am also a firm believer that Leica has packed in a few surprises for us!
jmahto Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1617 Posted January 14, 2017 me like 550g. In comparison M240 is 27lb!! Welcome, dear visitor! edwardkaraa Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1619 Posted January 14, 2017 me like 550g. In comparison M240 is 27lb!! M240weight.jpg I really doubt that number. Unless Leica made some sacrifices and replaced some metal parts with plastic, in which case the selling price should be no more than 3500$.
almoore Posted January 14, 2017 Share #1620 Posted January 14, 2017 There seems to be a sense of disappointment that there's no obvious radical technological change in this camera, but I think it would be a huge achievement if it simply gets back to the 'feel' of a film M. Less bloat and more refinement is all that I'd like in the M10.
