XPro2 : 140,5 x 82,8 x 45,9 M262 : 138,6 x 80 x 42 Considering that XPro2 is an APS C , seems to me isn't smaller (even if its hybrid VF clearly justifies the dimensions) See image for camera reference http://www.etrouko.com/vfd.jpg

Tobers Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1569 Posted January 13, 2017 ah, but who said that levers still controls the frame lines !! I was thinking along the same lines. The lever controls a hybrid viewfinder prism thing that slides into view inside the viewfinder a-la Fuji. Wishful thinking I suspect.
zlatkob Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1570 Posted January 13, 2017 See image for camera reference http://www.etrouko.com/vfd.jpg That pic makes a pointless comparison: X100T: aps-c camera with small battery and no optical rangefinder, with built-in fixed 23mm f/2 autofocus lens (not a great lens) vs. M: Interchangeable lens full-frame rangefinder camera with substantial battery, with 50mm f/1.4 manual focus lens (one of the best ever) It proves only that you can make a small camera with a bunch of compromises, including completely tossing out the great haptics of the M. Tobers Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1571 Posted January 13, 2017 I think it is incredibly expensive to make things smaller. You may have to make your own brand new electronics rather than buying in from component suppliers for example, or innovate in microchip assembly etc. All incredibly expensive and no doubt beyond Leica, but within the capabilities of Sony who are a huge multi-faceted organisation. I have an M240 and an X-Pro 2 and they each have unique strengths.

jonoslack Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1574 Posted January 13, 2017 Handicapped composing an 18mm lens through the x0.72 OVF... Can someone please pass the crutches? To be honest - when composing for extreme wide angle the Display on the back of the camera is pretty good (I find) - not good for telephoto perhaps. pico Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1575 Posted January 13, 2017 We don't all want small cameras. For example the Sony A's are too small for me to use comfortably. I prefer some heft, and grip-ability for a serious camera. ... It is easier to make a small camera larger with an add-on grip, but impossible to shrink. I have add-on grips on all my M bodies. derleicaman Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1578 Posted January 13, 2017 It seems to me that this dead horse has been thoroughly flogged! I think we all have a pretty good idea of what the M10 is all about given the leaking sieve in Asia. We will all know everything as facts not speculation in another few days. I myself look forward to this new camera.
