I would have hoped for a more "modern" design approach regarding the lens body, especially a more modern focus tab. But I totally see why they go for the "I want the Summaron, but I can't justify 2.6k euro for such a lens" Marked. A lot of people would buy a version of the lens when it would be at a different price point! So it probably makes sense to make a lens thats as close as possible to the Leica Lens.

Also ignoring that the lens has a completely different, more modern lens design wich will probably render wholly unalike the Leica Lens.

Ummmm, if I look at the M lens page on the Red Dot Cameras website, view all lenses sorted by descending price, the Summaron is at 30 out of 35. So that’s the “it’s so expensive” argument debunked.

I never said its expensive, or that someone says that is "so expensive". Its about justifying the lens at the price point. I have read so often that people cant justify this lens at their subjective price to performance "calculation" and that they would buy it at a different price point.

Personally I love the new Summaron, as well as the original. But I see why someone would think the lens isn't worth it for 2600 Euro in their opinion. In the same way a lot of others love to spend the money on this lens, I am one of them.

So there is nothing to "debunk" here, some don't want to spend 2600 euro on this lens but would buy it for less money and thats ok and (at least for me) understandable.
