What a fun lens. The build quality is as good or better than my 28 Lux. Really impressed with the feel of this lens in use. The vignetting profile of my 28 Lux at f/1.4 is one of my favorite things about that lens – same with this lens, only I get f/5.6 DOF.

First few test shots around the yard on the SL2-S:

Forgetting about the lens, I really like the first 'painter' photo (among others).  The photographer remains the critical component.

...and all is said ...!

if the lens is getting more important than the Woman/Man expressing with the tools, than something is really wrong.

Tools need to be learned, so Woman/Man expressing with the tools must learn to know how to use the tools (at best if they can ! ).

In my use, this Summaron 28mm is not easy to learn.

I agree 100% with above ! Expressing with the tools, learning how to use it (never ending to learn). But mostly people are about technical stuff (so was I when started with Leica and caught the virus of  being more technical than using) . But I am over it 😉

M10 Monochrom + 28mm Summaron, found the president of Turkey in Dubai Expo visit Turkey Pavilion. had only the 28mm which was wide for such shot but it turn out really great, did little cropping on the side. what I like about it , is all eyes not looking toward my side expect the president.

Beautiful! Is this image cropped / vignetting corrected? Thinking about this very lens as well and would like to better understand the character ..

I bought this lens for fun and the look on the M camera) however it turned out to be very capable lens , sharp with amazing contrast. regarding editing I usually use LR auto transform to see if it improves the image , and it did in this image with cropping the sides a bit. before and after click it show at f16 there is light vignetting.

the only con about it for me (not on the lens)  is when I am going out and know that I will catch the night time or low light situation I have to bring another lens. which is most of the time when I go for photo shoot. not the case with Summilux lenses since the shoot day and night I do go out with one lens if I have Summilux with me.
