The lens has been a minor revelation to me after years of using modern ASPH lenses. I've only used it with film cameras but I haven't been getting any of the overt vignetting that the Leica publicity photos demonstrate – just a very sharp, sufficiently contrasty lens that I can shoot with confidence into the light. HCB's soul divided by all Leica lenses, past and future, makes for an extremely small quantity of soul per lens. Just enough for magic to operate.
