  Actually, the 35-70 R is quite a nice walkabout lens, and not too heavy, it balances nicely.

I had that lens back when I had an R system and I agree it was an excellent lens.  I always found 35-70 restrictive, and that I could accomplish much the same with just a 35 or a 50 and foot-zooming, logistics permitting.   However I have been using the heck out of my $250 70-210/4 Leinolta zoom on the M240.  Much lighter and lots cheaper than the Kyocereica 80-200, still with surprisingly good optical quality for a zoom of its age.

#1: Jaap -  Fine, looks good!

Do not forget the good Visoflex lenses° * and
the cheap and fundamentally simple bellows (tilt)*;)

° Here are suggestions for bridging the Visoflex Distance* with possibly existing extension tubes.

- This is the real original Visoflex*!  - OK OT (;-)

It and the 21-35 zoom that came along a little later are both great on the SL, too.  It struck me as interesting that David Farkas and Luis Mora, shooting a demo 4K video with the SL about using the SL on the street used four M lenses for the street shooting and two T lenses for the video work.   :)

This is my version of SL. (It is "poorer" than Jaap's) :)

AI-S Zoom-Nikkor 28-85 zoom on M240. I got it last year for under $50 and today I saw it on B&H for $250. I had bought it just for fun since it was so cheap. Today I took it out just to test out EVF only shooting experience (I am 99% RF guy). I kept the camera on all the time (with 2min auto power off + review off). Of course there is a delay in camera waking up but I am not in a hurry. Walked around for two hours, shot 70 pics and lost 25% of battery power. Focusing and framing using EVF was easy even through sun glasses. Shot mostly at f/5.6.

And yes, it is sharp enough. Verdict? I will not hesitate to take it out again.

Well, Jaap, your topic has made me remember that in some drawer at home, I do have a 28-70 (Leitz-Sigma)... the only R lens I have had till now (and having never had a R body... came to me as "semi-free" in the context of a complex exchange of gear many years ago) : finally, having now a R/M adapter (arrived Yesterday) , I can give a try to it... it's about 15 years that it is not seeing a bit of light...
