'Rain Coat' for wet weather

How about using an umbrella? (My favoured approach)

Many years ago I photographed the first London Marathon and was required to wear an Umbrella hat to do so - effective but not a good look :D .

Unfortunately I have made very bad experiences with supposedly waterproof wristwatches.

waterproof wristwatches are only waterproof, if they are serviced every year. According to my wristwatch dealer. I'm talking about divers watches with WR ( waterrisistant ) 200/300  meters and 500/1000m. The 50/100 m watches are just a little splasch proof.
