Many years ago I photographed the first London Marathon and was required to wear an Umbrella hat to do so - effective but not a good look .

Unfortunately I have made very bad experiences with supposedly waterproof wristwatches.

waterproof wristwatches are only waterproof, if they are serviced every year. According to my wristwatch dealer. I'm talking about divers watches with WR ( waterrisistant ) 200/300  meters and 500/1000m. The 50/100 m watches are just a little splasch proof.

Original shutter that came with the camera as new 9 months ago (that's right, only 9 months old) 2nd shitter approximately 4 weeks ago, but the replacement is malfunctioning too, so back again for a 3rd shutter.

I use the hotel shower cap to protect my Leica M. Simple and cheap or should I say free.

I wouldn't go swimming with it, but it rains a lot in Seattle, and my Monochrom has lasted through three years of it without shorting out. It's a good idea to carry a bar towel to mop up excess moisture.
