Overgaard Posted June 14, 2016 Share #1  Posted June 14, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) 37 months after the Leica M9 disappeared into the closet, the Leica M9 returned...  I've been using the Leica M9 for the last five weeks and found it so pleasant to use that I decided to add a Page 19 to my Leica M9 article series.  It also contains a dictionary of Leica words as well as a visual guide to the features of the Leica M9.  Enjoy!   Leica M9 Confessions by Thorsten Overgaard  http://overgaard.dk/leica-M9-digital-rangefinder-camera-page-19-Leica-M9-Confessions-Definitions-and-What-is-That-Details-Explained.html

lucerne Posted June 14, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted June 14, 2016 Thank you Thorsten, for returning to this model and taking your time to remind me why I decided to stick with my M9-P and for giving others the encouragement and confidence to do the same . Â I have added a Q but haven't really bonded with it. Â The reason why I haven't really taken to the Q is that while each exposure is probably going to be good, I miss the pleasure of the simplicity of the M9, the thought that goes into composure, the engagement with the controls, the colour or monochrome character of the image, Â the ergonomics, and even the satisfaction that the rewind sound gives me! Â I don't care about the audible noise or the limited display capabilities. Â I added the Q for automatic features, but a recent asian trip with the Q wasn't as rewarding mentally as previous trips with the M9-P. Â Simplicity of operation, and personal satisfaction are my prime movers. Please continue to show us how the M9 delivers results.

IWC Doppel Posted June 15, 2016 Share #4  Posted June 15, 2016 A great write up.  My M9-P and MM are already more capable than I will ever be, I'm already indulging even before I think about the M11. I hope I am never tempted to shelve my CCD M's  Glad to see you using a 35AA

Overgaard Posted July 13, 2016 Author Share #6  Posted July 13, 2016 Thank you for sharing, and surprisingly it is still working after  179,000 actuations  Yes, though that is on two cameras. But far above 100,000 is no problem in my experience.
pico Posted July 13, 2016 Share #7  Posted July 13, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, though that is on two cameras. But far above 100,000 is no problem in my experience.  Who in the world needs 100,000 exposures to make a good one? .

Overgaard Posted July 26, 2016 Author Share #9  Posted July 26, 2016 I'm at 25,000 and haven't made one yet   Ha ha, then you need to edit the 25,000 and find the good ones. There's always something :-)
TRIago Posted July 27, 2016 Share #10 Â Posted July 27, 2016 I still have mine with the updated sensor. Will never sell it, and to be honest I can't see myself buying a new digital camera in the near future. Vidar Posted August 9, 2016 Share #11 Â Posted August 9, 2016 A great read, and great pictures. My favourite is the man on the bicycle in Paris. Â Hopefully I will soon get my own M9. Just have to sell my M8 and find the perfect M9.
