chrisfugiel Posted May 14, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody used Nissin i40 Flash with Leica T? I'm wandering what Flash I should buy for my Leica T. Leica SF 26 is badly expensive, SF 40 looks better for parameters and price. Any suggestions? BCMielke Posted May 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted May 15, 2016 I have used the i40 both the Nikon TTL and Fuji TTL. It works fine, but only in M mode.
adamdewilde Posted May 17, 2016 Share #3 Posted May 17, 2016 I've had the flashes listed above and also had the M4/3 one. Doesn't work on the T in TTL. Only M. Get the SF-26 if you just need something basic/small to slip into a shirt pocket or SF-40 if you're willing to go a bit bigger.
david strachan Posted May 17, 2016 Share #4 Posted May 17, 2016 The i40 is a good flash, if the camera does TTL..works well with my Fuji's. In fact flawlessly. It can still be used with M cameras, but only in manual mode, and allows incremental flash strength, full tilt and swivel. A flash without full tilt and swivel ie bounce capabilities, is close to useless in my opinion. Straight flash is just too harsh unless used with moderation and diffusion as fill flash. The i40 series are nice low profile. They have a reasonable GN, strength. The dials are a bit too easy to turn though.
Louis Posted February 4, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 4, 2018 I have used the i40 both the Nikon TTL and Fuji TTL. It works fine, but only in M mode. Would i40 for any camera work manually on TL2/CL?
saintsteve Posted February 4, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 4, 2018 Yes any nissin i40 will work in manual mode. In addition I use an older Leica sf-24 which works in ttl.
Louis Posted February 13, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 13, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes any nissin i40 will work in manual mode. In addition I use an older Leica sf-24 which works in ttl. My understanding is that the same flash that is compatible with T is also compatible with CL!... I just checked with Adorama and was told SF 24 is not compatible with CL...
jaapv Posted February 13, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 13, 2018 Hmmm. My SF 24 works perfectly on the CL, both in Auto and TTL mode. The answer by Adorama is simply wrong. Maybe they are confused by the SF20.

I guess sf24d is the same as sr24? Edited February 17, 2018 by Louis
