The i40 is a good flash, if the camera does TTL..works well with my Fuji's. In fact flawlessly.

It can still be used with M cameras, but only in manual mode, and allows incremental flash strength, full tilt and swivel.

A flash without full tilt and swivel ie bounce capabilities, is close to useless in my opinion.

Straight flash is just too harsh unless used with moderation and diffusion as fill flash.

The i40 series are nice low profile.  They have a reasonable GN, strength. The dials are a bit too easy to turn though.

Yes any nissin i40 will work in manual mode. In addition I use an older Leica sf-24 which works in ttl.

My understanding is that the same flash that is compatible with T is also compatible with CL!... I just checked with Adorama and was told SF 24 is not compatible with CL...

Hmmm. My SF 24 works perfectly on the CL, both in Auto and TTL mode. The answer by Adorama is simply wrong. Maybe they are confused by the SF20.

Wow; this is a good news if sf24 works on CL in TTL. It is a small flash (it seems); and as an older system, the price is becoming interesting. :)

I guess sf24d is the same as sr24?
