semi-ambivalent Posted March 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 24, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you were out exercising your Leica S this week on the plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico yes, I saw you. They look smaller than I thought, although I don't know just how big I thought they were. Hope you had as much fun as I did taking pictures of nothing in particular. s-a

Echo63 Posted March 24, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 24, 2016 Other than stores or workshops, the only time i have seen one was at Perth Airport. I dont think i have seen the photographer in question without it, ever.
xiaubauu2009 Posted March 25, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2016 Saw one at a Starbucks shop in a residential area in Shanghai. An Italian is holding it and entering the shop.

relms Posted March 25, 2016 Share #6 Posted March 25, 2016 There have been quite a few sightings in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, commonly draped from my shoulder.

Is that location considered "in the wild." Perhaps for S purposes...
jip Posted March 25, 2016 Share #8 Posted March 25, 2016 A lot of people see them in the wild, because they see me!
relms Posted March 26, 2016 Share #9 Posted March 26, 2016 Is that location considered "in the wild." Perhaps for S purposes... Yeah, with all the Spring Breakers here we are definitely in the wild.
menos I M6 Posted April 19, 2016 Share #10 Posted April 19, 2016 When I was shopping yesterday, I saw a Bic pen in the wild. The shop clerk used it writing something in a ledger while chewing on the blue cap when dealing with the customer. The customer wore blue jeans and a red hat. It was sunny. Herr Barnack Posted April 24, 2016 Share #12 Posted April 24, 2016 I have never seen an S, other than on Camera West's website and in LFI magazine. I must live in an economically barren area - being seen with my M-P Safari by someone who knows what it is causes a reaction much like disembarking from a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport would in some locations. Well... They do call my area "flyover land" for a reason, I suppose... The S is an outstanding imaging machine and it is tempting on some level, but the M-P and M lenses do not come up short (for me) in any way. Being content with the M system, I can't see taking the plunge for an S and 2-3 lenses. For the foreseeable future, that is.
Dougg Posted April 25, 2016 Share #13 Posted April 25, 2016 In my travels I've not seen another S either. I've had my S2 for 5 years, and it's been out in public quite a bit. I occasionally have a comment about "nice camera" but only once have I been asked what it is. BTW, this is my most error-prone camera, demonstrating my idiocy. It requires paying more attention to operational details than my others, so I make errors in exposure, too-low shutter speed, insufficient DoF on occasion. Sometimes controls get moved inadvertently and I don't notice, etc. But when I get it right, it's magnificent!

Sometimes controls get moved inadvertently and I don't notice, etc. But when I get it right, it's magnificent! Me too. And when that happens, I just slow down. Breath. Look around. Take it all in. That is when "magnificent" truly happens for me.
ynp Posted April 25, 2016 Share #15 Posted April 25, 2016 I am in Thailand now and my Thai friend shoots his Leica 007 with several prime lenses. He is a well known person so I will not post him and his personalized camera. He let me use his 007 for two days on a shoot in Khao Lak and it was the first time I used the 007 and two lenses :the S45СS and S180CS with Elpro. Wonderful camera and fantastic lenses.
