I actually saw an S in the wild

I have never seen an S, other than on Camera West's website and in LFI magazine.  I must live in an economically barren area - being seen with my M-P Safari by someone who knows what it is causes a reaction much like disembarking from a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport would in some locations.

Well...  They do call my area "flyover land" for a reason, I suppose...

The S is an outstanding imaging machine and it is tempting on some level, but the M-P and M lenses do not come up short (for me) in any way.  Being content with the M system, I can't see taking the plunge for an S and 2-3 lenses.  For the foreseeable future, that is.

In my travels I've not seen another S either. I've had my S2 for 5 years, and it's been out in public quite a bit. I occasionally have a comment about "nice camera" but only once have I been asked what it is.

BTW, this is my most error-prone camera, demonstrating my idiocy. It requires paying more attention to operational details than my others, so I make errors in exposure, too-low shutter speed, insufficient DoF on occasion. Sometimes controls get moved inadvertently and I don't notice, etc. But when I get it right, it's magnificent!

Me too. And when that happens, I just slow down. Breath. Look around. Take it all in. That is when "magnificent" truly happens for me.

I am in Thailand now and my Thai friend shoots his Leica 007 with several prime lenses. He is a well known person so I will not post him and his personalized camera. He let me use his 007 for two days on a shoot in Khao Lak and it was the first time I used the 007 and two lenses :the S45СS and S180CS with Elpro. Wonderful camera and fantastic lenses.
