That's how it stands at present. With the Leica SL now in my hands and the very complete R lens kit I have to use with it, all the other digital (Nikon, Olympus, Pentax) and about half the film cameras are being put up for sale. 

 

The other film cameras will be kept for sentimental and/or uniqueness reasons.

I use the R9 for any serious shooting and either a Sony Cybershot or smartphone for off-the-cuff snapshot stuff.

 

Particularly in view of my hefty investment in the R system, I was so disappointed when Leica abruptly chose to discontinue the line, just like many others around the world I've no doubt.

 

Meanwhile, a Nikon D800E gathers dust on a shelf, an outlay I would have gladly sent Leica's way if only they had opted for an integral digital solution for the R.

I HAVE BEEN USING LEICA FOR MANY YEARS, BACK TO 1950.  MOSTLY PHOTOJOURNALISTIC WORK.  I HAVE FOUND THAT THE LEICA M IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR PICTURE STORY WORK.  ALSO HAVE USED THE "R" SERIES, LENSES FINE BUT CAMERA WORKABILITY NOT SUITED FOR MY WORK AT THE TIME.  NIKON HAS ITS PLACE!

I use M-240, SL, D-Lux, Ricoh A12, Sony 7S & Contax 645. I used Fuji before but I gave it to my friend. Now I use mainly SL and very satisfy with the quality.

Sold my 12 years old Nikon FM in 2007 in favour of a démonstration Leica MP with 35mm Summicron .
Started wedding Photography in 2009 with Leica MP Leica M7 and added M5 and M9p in 2010 and 2011

Hasselblad swc/m and Rolleiflex f2.8 for own Photos as well as Hasselblad XPanII. Minolta TC1 and Olympus XA for cycling

have own darkroom for B&W

Leica MP, Monochrom, X-vario, T, C in use.  Leica iiif, O replica, and M3 in my historic collection, although I don't use film anymore.  (Old Rolleicord VB and Horseman VR also in collection)

When I was on a cruise, discovered that my M9 had the sensor corrosion problem (since repaired and sold).  Bought a Sony a6000 and M lens adapter to finish the cruise.  Found the Sony had some advantages in size, weight, focus options, zoom range (with Hasselblad 18-200 mm), and other bells and whistles, so I kept it for special occasions and backup.

Last december i got my first digital Leica, a M262. The camera i hoped for since i didn't like the idea of having a rangefinder camera with liveview, EVF and video.

I am a Leica M6 user since 1989 and owned several lenses. I now have a 24/3.8, 35/2, 50/2 and a 90/2.8.

 

I also own a Canon 6D DSLR, mainly for long lens use (70-200, 300mm)
