I had the Lumix immediate predisessor to the V-Lux 1 in 2005 and got good results with it -- the photos on our site from our first visit to India are a mix of that camera and a D2. However, 11 years is a long time in digital cameras so you might want to reconsider -- with the V-Lux type 114 we have the 5th version of the series,
