Advertisement Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Hi stuny, Take a look here The hybridization of Salvador Dali and Alfred E. Newman . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Louis Posted December 7, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 7, 2015 What a wonderful painting so beautifully shot! I met him once in a night club in Paris when I was a teenager. I and a lady friend had our table next to him and his friends. He was very friendly to us and so different from his public image!... A memorable evening!... Michael Geschlecht Posted December 7, 2015 Share #4 Posted December 7, 2015 Hello Stuart, Nice photo of an interesting idea. Suggestion: The title of this Thread might benefit from the strategic addition of the letter "b". Hello Louis, Please tell us more about A.E. Best Regards, Michael
A miller Posted December 7, 2015 Share #5 Posted December 7, 2015 Hi Stuart - I think this is a wonderful photograph. It has charm and quality beyond just a reportage shot. The tree and trash dumpster are key elements of the overall scene. It is a very frameable image. Nicely seen. One thing that I'm surprised others haven't commented on is the WB, which is too cool. The sidewalk should be pure gray and the shirt collar should be pure white. They currently have blue hues. I would suggest that you put this image in your editor and place the auto WB pencil on the sidewalk. This should warm up the image and bring it into proper balance. This will convey more of what you saw and felt when you shot this. This deserves a special place in your large collection of street murals. Keep in touch. Best, Adam
stuny Posted December 8, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted December 8, 2015 Mark, Hans-Peter, Matthew & Louis - Thank you. Shawn - Thank you, and me too. Michael - Thank you. It's clear I need to get a keyboard that does not misspell, Adam - Thank you for both the comments and advice. BTW: Before saving the processed image I tried doing a white balance on it and preferred the results of the "blue shadows."

But fwiw, this is along the lines of what I had in mind... Welcome, dear visitor! XVarior Posted December 8, 2015 Share #8 Posted December 8, 2015 Beautiful painting and beautiful photograph. If Dali was still here he would have greatly appreciated this. Adam is right about the WB being off but I actually like it this way. It's about Dali after all :-)
stuny Posted December 8, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted December 8, 2015 Adam - that's less of a change than I did, and I like it better than the shadowy blue. Thank you. Sam, MN, Apostolos, Heinz & Rodrigue -Thank you.
