I have a chrome/silver elmarit that would look out of place on a black camera body.

From what I have  seen (eg, a recent M9 upgraded to M9P in silver), the chrome is not what it once was – and my new silver 35 Summilux FLE would certainly not have been anything like a match, let alone the classic earlier lenses like the lovely Summaron 35 2.8.

Looks like I am the only one who thinks front button for image magnification is perfect. The video button configured (if) to do so will also be ok but adding the button in the back will create clutter and may also create issues with accessories like thumbie.

I will prefer the M button to be configured to bring up profile change menu... or a subset menu for user selected items. Others may have different preference of course.

Suffice it to have several customizable buttons and to choose the one(s) we prefer. Works like that on my Sony A7 where i have one button near the shutter release and the other one near the thumb rest. A good tool is supposed to comply with the needs of its users, not the other way around. Just my usual rant vs Leica's ergonomics, nothing personal B).

I really like the classic silver/chrome design too including the grey-ish M9.  It's a sort of a step further away from the all-black DSLR colour theme.

The silver 35 FLE is of course not traditional silver chrome (on brass) but silver anodised aluminium.

I am aware of that: the point I was making earlier was that neither would sit well on recent 'silver' M cameras, and a contrast (black + silver) might  be preferable to a poor match.

What's wrong with the silver chrome finish of the MP and M-A? Seems nice enough to me. There comes a point when you have to recognise that the photographic utility trumps the jewellery.

Doesn't sound logical to me. Then there would also be a difference in sound between a live view and a not live view recock on the M 240. I think it's a acoustical different sound; change one curtain in a room and it will sound different.

I really want to buy a 262 second hand but no one is selling. Damn it folk must be loving it :)

Me too, I waited so long ...second hand M (type 262).

As I had understand that M 262 (...a lesser 240 so less disired in specifications-wise) would not sell well, I didn't wait longer.

People who buy an M 262 would not sell it in near future.

The result is I have bought one new ;) .

What a nice camera  .

Regards,

Arnaud

If only 5 bought it is because that's all that Leica made for the first batch.    ;)

I've had a 262 on order for about 5 weeks.  It finally shipped yesterday.   I also noticed  several on line sites finally say they have the camera in stock (or did yesterday, could be sold out again already).
