larsv Posted November 20, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted November 20, 2015 Hi Stu, Apologies for late response. I was there on business and met with some old friends. Hopefully will have more unscheduled time next time around. Best regards, Lars
A miller Posted November 20, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 20, 2015 a little over processed and the horizon could use a slight tilt. But a nice composition...
Jeffry Abt Posted November 20, 2015 Share #5 Posted November 20, 2015 Good image, thanks!
larsv Posted November 20, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted November 20, 2015 Thank you, Adam and Jeff. @ Adam: horizon is straight as can be. Hardly any processing, apart from b/w conversion.
david strachan Posted November 20, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 20, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is Adam talking about the flag-edge glow, against the sky? cheers Dave S
Sparkassenkunde Posted November 20, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 20, 2015 Yes, the stars are glowing bright in these dark days I also like the composition and the b/w conversion is very good. If you look closely, you might see that the horizon is indeed not straight. But the one thing that I really don't like that much is the big blown out patch of the sun. larsv Posted November 21, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted November 21, 2015 Yes, now I see the edges as well. Too much sharpening I guess.
larsv Posted November 21, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted November 21, 2015 Actually, now that I had a chance to look at the file OOC: the RAW and OOC file already has that glow around the edges of the pole. Maybe somebody with more tech knowledge than me might help out here.
david strachan Posted November 23, 2015 Share #11 Posted November 23, 2015 Hi Lars again, I wouldn't worry too much. A nice image anyway...we are a picky lot. Sometimes overblown sun is OK, as there is nothing we can do about it anyway! cheers Dave S
Iduna Posted November 24, 2015 Share #12 Posted November 24, 2015 Lars, a nice image with its cinematic touch. No problems with the "edges".
A miller Posted November 24, 2015 Share #13 Posted November 24, 2015 yes, I was referring to the halo around the flag, what my eyes continue to see as a slight tilt to the left and the large hole in the upper left representing blown highlights. All are imminently fixable, except for the blown highlights, which unfortunately is a product of the digital camera. B&W film would have rendered this much more pleasing.
