Silly question - and something that I could test myself - but I haven't...:

If you stack, say, 1.4x and 2x extenders; does the order of stacking influence the quality of the image? (I do understand that the there is a (general) loss of quality when extenders are being used, but the question is whether the order of extenders matter).

The Leica /Leitz 2x & 1.4x APO extenders only stack with the 2x at the rear i.e with 1.4x attached to the lens - because of the protruding front element on the 1.4x extender.  As a 2.8x extender the combination works very well - but the effective aperture is reduced by a factor of 2.8.

Thanks, Marc!  I'm not in Shiraz now but I was in April and we did visit the Nasir-al-Mulk Mosque!  Our guide took us at dawn and told us to close our eyes.  He led us in, told us to sit on the carpet and wait a few minutes before we opened our eyes.  We did!

For me also one of the most beautiful places. A friend told me that the best place to visit this mosque is in January when the remove the carpets and you see the reflections from the windows to the blue tiles and from there to the columns.

best wishes

While we were there, in spite of many signs saying "Do not roll up carpets!", one tour guide and her group rolled up all of the carpets so they could take photos of the reflections on the floor.  I actually preferred the reflections on the Persian carpets!

The 77mm to 82mm adapter ring arrived from SRB this morning so immediately attached the 77mm Canon 500D 2 diopter close-up achromat to the 24-90mm SL lens and snapped this orchid on the kitchen windowsill
