I’m interested in this lens because of the size and price. Do you like it?

It is fine. Not the world's 'best' lens, but for general photography is competent enough. I too like size and price. It works well on the SL. Its quite slow though so not for use in low light handheld so much.

Is it slow to focus in the low light on SL?

I use f5.6, f8 and bouncing flash with f2.8 lenses, because I need more than one person in focus.

Yes It is slow because it is build on contrast variations. High contrast means sharpness. Low light means less contrast

Just received a s/h Sigma 45mm f2.8 DG DN  'L'  mount lens ... this is my very first,  Q&D 'close-up' image taken handheld using kitchen window light

... Leica SL 601/ Sigma 45mm / Leitz Elpro 3 plus Elpro 2  c/u lenses (total 6.58 diopters) ... ISO 1600 f11 1/250

... image is not cropped ... it's 'as is' straight off the card ... Sigma 45mm has potential as a close-up / macro lens ... but requires a 55mm spacer ring to use the Elpro 2, 4.92 diopter c/u lens by itself ... Elpro 2 has concentric Series VI and 55mm attachment threads and the Series VI section is too deep ... thus needs a spacer ring. Elpro 3 has a regular 55mm thread which screws onto the Sigma filter thread; Elpro 2 can be stacked onto the Elpro 3.  I have a 55mm spacer ring enabling use of the Elpro 2 on the Sigma 45mm but the light had faded so will try some more c/u experiments soon ... and with a better set-up.
