Nice sequence Steve, shows the quality of the lenses and the beauty of Sicilly. Makes me envy both.

I hope you marked and secured  the spots of the tripodfeet

Because now you are obliged to go back when Leica introduces a SL wide zoom and the SL-extenders to complete the sequence!

Well, I can't argue with that, the WATE is a wonderful thing with the SL, and you've got those glorious R lenses (which I haven't). For me, the ultimate travel kit might be:

SL WATE,24-90,90-280, 50 APO M, 60mm macro elmarit R . . . I'm sure they'll bring out a wide angle zoom, but the WATE does a cracking job, and who really needs AF for that?

The amuzing thing that enables me to rationalize keeping my R15 and R19 lenses as well is that their minimum focus is much much closer than the WATE...

No problems taking paparazzi like candid shots from miles away with the 90-280 ..... 240mm f7.1 1/250  :)

SL with 24-90 during our Thai New Year, Songkran or Water Festival. (SL was on Dicapac water proof bag)

Well, I thought SL together with 24-90 is well sealed. So why protect it against water splashes. Makes no sense whatsoever...

I don't know if my strategy is right ... I wish I had a WATE ... Instead I have CV 15 heliar III, M lenses 24 elmar, 35 summarit, 50 cron, 90 summarit, and planning the SL 90-280.

The water is mixed with talcum powder and perfumes and many people throw ice cubes at each other.

The Robins have returned to our back door ivy  ....... in fact the 'disappearance' was clearly incubating eggs as they are now ferrying food at a frantic pace to the offspring.

SL+90-280 f 6.3 1/40 iso 200.

Unfortunately they are not as obliging in using the nearest wooden post and posing for a spell before going to the nest as with my 280/2.8 apo pics, so the bird in the images (cropped) is about 2/3 the size of the other photos ..... and it's difficult to get the optimum settings as they are only there fleetingly every 5-10 minutes. I will try and get some more accurate comparisons over the weekend if the weather allows .......

True, initially I also thought that bare SL with 24-90 should be just fine but why tempt fate :)

I saw a video when SL was dipped in water with no problem but that is not quite the same

as getting heavy water splash for a few hours though. I talked with my local dealer a bit about this and nobody was willing

to stick out their neck to claim that SL would survive our water festival unscathed. Then I saw Dicapac bag which is big enough for SL and it would accept 82mm  size lens and is cheap enough to try. I figure at least it will stop the big splash and whatever water that may leak into the bag, SL should be able to handle that. As it turned out though, the camera stayed completely dry.

The bag was quite well thought out with finger holes that would let me access most of the buttons quite well.

I also want to protect the camera itself from other stuffs beside water, talcum powder, people bumping into me with their various belongings, water pistols etc etc. No ice cubes throwing that I could see but got drench by bucket full of water + ice cubes a few time though.
