The 21-35/3.4-4 M-Hexanon is well-suited to the SL because it's a true zoom lens so it offers all intermediate focal lengths and when the SL's sensor is configured as APS-C it offers a pseudo* 50 mm focal length.  It's a beautifully built lens whose zoom, aperture, and focus rings are very smooth and just the right 'weight'.  ( * I say pseudo because the same could be achieved by simply cropping a raw full frame shot.)

To those that own the new SL:  Is it me or is the most striking thing about the SL the beautiful color?  The over all pleasing image quality in this thread just knocks me out.  Hope the new M gets this sensor and processing engine.

To those that own the new SL:  Is it me or is the most striking thing about the SL the beautiful color?  The over all pleasing image quality in this thread just knocks me out.  Hope the new M gets this sensor and processing engine.  

 

I agree; in this respect the SL is not the end of the M, it's rather indicating a rebirth of the M. Interesting times, indeed...
