The M75Noc is a fabulous lens with a identical character to the M50lux. I had the chance to take the same subject and location with the SL50LUX. The results were different in effect. The SL50LUX had very clinically good control to produce a realistic yet pleasing picture while the M75Noc produced a dramatic effect and the purple fringing effect identical to my M50LUX 0.95.

Regarding "M50LUX 0.95": Is this the 50 Noct-M or the 50 Lux-M...? More importantly, does the new 75 Noct-M show purple fringing similar to the 50 Noct-M? The latter shows quite some purple fringing. Just curious.

Apologies, must have been my typo error. It should be M50Noc 0.95 instead of M50LUX. Yes the M75Noc showed purple fringe just as the M50Noc. Can be removed in LR. I have the series of same portraits taken using M50Noc, M75Noc, SL50LUX, SL90-289 all taken on same SL body which I’ll post later for viewing and comparisons.

and the transition from soft to sharp across her elbow/arm to shoulder...super silky smooth.

imo the 75mm Noctilux really "out-shines" the other lenses - high resolution in the zone of focus (but not brutal), beautiful oof rendering, way less CA than the 50 Noctilux...

To truly compare the lenses it would be beneficial to have similar poses, lighting, framing, and background.

This is not directed toward sillbeers15, to whom I will say thank you for posting these.

It’s a general comment to those who draw conclusions from such a limited set. Something like the DOF transition at the elbow is difficult as a point of comparison between the 50 and 75 when only one of the images has a pose with the elbow at a different plane than the rest of the arm and body.

my Conclusion from seeing those specific photos that were posted, was that i like the new 75's rendering better..in the context of those specific photos that were posted in this thread.

I was referring to just those photos and lenses as well. I can’t draw conclusions on rendering from those photos. I own two of the lenses and those photos don’t tell me much. They’re too different to compare in my opinion.
