OK, I've got a few from my recent trip to Patagonia...

First stop on the way there was Buenos Aires.  This is a picture of the inside of the opera house, specifically the ceiling, chandelier, and the top couple balconies.  This was with the WATE set at 16mm, f/8 or so, ISO 1600, 1/45s.

A lone penguin on Magdalena Island, Chile...  This was also with the 180mm APO Telyt-R @ f/4, 1/350s @ ISO 1600 fairly shortly after dawn.

Just outside my hotel window in Torres del Paine national park in Chile.  This was a 32s exposure well before dawn using the WATE at 16mm, I believe it was at f/8, ISO 50 (on a tripod, obviously).

Here's one of the Paine taken on a hike as we passed a roadside that framed thins really well.  This was with the 90mm Macro Elmar-M at f/11, 1/180s, ISO 50.  Wish I had had a tripod and a little more time to play around with the depth of field on this one.  I really liked the light, the shape of the clouds, and the framing of the fence posts.

The "Towers" that give the park its name, as seen from the base of the towers.  This involved an 18km hike and roughly 2,500 feet of climbing so I was glad I brought only the 50mm and the WATE.  This was with the 50mm APO Summicron at f/5.6.  Getting a sunny day like this is, apparently, incredibly rare.  We were extremely lucky with the weather.  The colors are real--the glacial pool at the base of the towers is astonishing.

Thanks!  I'm not sure I qualify to review the camera yet!  I've only had it a couple of weeks and those have been spent learning to use it.  I haven't even finished reading the manual yet!  I can tell you that I love this camera, so far.  I had doubts about spending so much money, but my old eyes are having a really hard time manually focusing anything.  I have a huge selection of M and R lenses that I want to continue to use and the idea of using them with the EVF, magnified focusing, and peak focusing was too tempting.  So far, I've tried the camera with the 100 Macro and 19/2.8 R lenses and with the Noctilux, 35/2.0, and 50/1.4 M lenses.  I can focus again!  The bright finder and the ability to magnify the focal point and then zoom back out to take the photo have made it possible for me to even focus the Noctilux accurately.  I do like the 24-90 auto-focus lens even though it is HEAVY!  The focus is fast, accurate, and quiet.  I practiced focusing on my chickens' eyes and they are fast movers!  I tried exposure bracketing and the shutter was so quiet and fast, I thought I had made a mistake and only taken one photo.

The camera itself is not so huge.  When I put an M lens on it, it doesn't seem much larger than my M240.  The real test will come when I take the camera on a trip.  I'm planning a trip to Iran in March.  I hope by then to have finished reading the manual and made using the camera almost as automatic as my old M6s used to be!

Tina

And, finally, the classic view of the Grande Paine and its reflection.  This was taken on the way to a Bar-B-Q through the window of a bus.  F/5.6, 1/750s, ISO 50, 50mm APO Summicron-M.

A wonderful set of pictures.  Thank you so much!
