I just googled the Astro-Berlin Fernbildlinse 300mm f/5.  Wow, that is quite some lens!

Hi,

Thank you for your viewing and input. Yes, Astro Berlin is a renowned name in the movie industries, and used to be a major supplier of movie lens for Hollywood till 90’s. Those lenses that cover full frame sensor (for 135mm still camera) and in fast speed are now in high demand and usually pretty expensive.

My copy is in M42 mount, and with proper adapter I can shoot it with my Canon, M240 and SL.

The sensor format APS-C of SL is very useful for my movie lenses with smaller image circle, such as Cine-Xenon 28mm/f2. Here is a shot taken with SL + Cine-Xenon 28mm/f2:

Which adapter are you using?

Hi Bernd:

I use two adapters for Cine-Xenon with SL:

1) Hawk's Arriflex ST mount to Leica M adapter. I bought it on eBay, and here is the link for your reference:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/STANDARD-STD-ARRI-ARRIFLEX-LEICA-M-ADAPTER-/320928784761?hash=item4ab8d8a179

2) Leica M-Adapter T (18771)

It seems there is still no one-step adapter (Arriflex to SL) available so far, but the two-step adapter works well enough for shooting Arriflex cine lens with SL.

Happy Shooting!

Felix

SL + Nikkor-Q·C 13.5cm f/3.5 in Leica Screw Mount

The lens was produced in 50’s mainly for Nikon RF camera, and some units were made in Leica screw mount or Exakta mount. Despite its age, this legacy lens performs very well with SL, and its image result shows fine details and excellent color rendering.   SL + Nikkor-Q·C 13.5cm f/3.5 in Leica Screw Mount
