iJeff Posted November 12, 2015 Share #1  Posted November 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received the LIM'S Design leather half case with metal grip for my Leica Q.  It is made in Korea with Italian Minerva leather and aircraft grade aluminium 6061.  The build quality is good and the fitting is precise.  It does not block the Q buttons at the back.  Unlike the Leica handgrip, there is an opening at the bottom for easy access to the battery and SD card as well as a tripod mount.  The price is reasonable too at US$109.90 including standard international shipping (see links below).  The standard shipping took around 10 days from Korea to Singapore.  http://www.limsdesign.com/product/detail.html?product_no=121&cate_no=1&display_group=3  http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIMS-LE-HCLCAQBK-Genuine-Leather-Camera-Half-Case-Black-for-Leica-Q-Typ-116-/262106445789?hash=item3d06c2f7dd:g:mO8AAOSw9mFWKJ5a  It also comes in brown leather but I personally prefer the black:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIMS-LE-HCLCAQBR-Genuine-Leather-Camera-Half-Case-Brown-for-Leica-Q-Typ-116-/262106480953?hash=item3d06c38139:g:O9AAAOSwwbdWKKlm
Advertisement Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Hi iJeff, Take a look here A nice leather case with metal grip for the Q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
iJeff Posted November 12, 2015 Author Share #2 Â Posted November 12, 2015 There is no need to remove the case if you want to use a tripod as there is a tripod mount at the bottom of the case. Â

viramati Posted November 12, 2015 Share #6 Â Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) I have to say that is the first half case I have seen that looks functional, reasonably priced and doesn't seem to add to much girth to the camera. The english text on their website made me smile Edited November 12, 2015 by viramati
iJeff Posted November 12, 2015 Author Share #7 Â Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) They may have used Google to translate from Korean to English. Â The design of the case is practical and functional indeed. Â The built-in metal grip is about the same size as the Leica Q handgrip, which improves the handling of the Q in conjunction with the recessed thumb rest. Â At the price of US$109.90, I am getting a 2-in-1 leather case with metal grip. Â This is cheaper than either the Leica Q leather protector or handgrip. m9photo Posted November 13, 2015 Share #8 Â Posted November 13, 2015 I ordered the same one from eBay, how long does it take to shipped? I just got confirmation today.
iJeff Posted November 13, 2015 Author Share #9 Â Posted November 13, 2015 I ordered the same one from eBay, how long does it take to shipped? I just got confirmation today. Â I opted for the free standard international shipping, which took about 10 days to ship from Korea to Singapore by registered post.
atvrider Posted November 13, 2015 Share #10 Â Posted November 13, 2015 Originally I purchased the Angelo Pelle case, but it was very thick and I wasn't all that happy with it. Â I ordered this case and it took about 12 days to arrive. Â I am very happy with it. Â It has a screw at the bottom that tightens into the body of the Q and keeps it snug to the camera. Â Battery and SD card are easy to access. Â Highly recommended!!
zcarsten Posted November 13, 2015 Share #11 Â Posted November 13, 2015 I also bought this case and can highly recommend it. Very good quality and fit. Previously I had tried the Gariz case but this one is from my point of view the better selection and includes the grip which is very helpful. Tiptop2000 Posted November 14, 2015 Share #12 Â Posted November 14, 2015 Can you buy it in Europe?
zcarsten Posted November 14, 2015 Share #13 Â Posted November 14, 2015 Can you buy it in Europe? Don't think so. I bought mine via eBay and delivery from Korea to Germany took about 3 weeks. No additional tax was requested.
lucerne Posted November 17, 2015 Share #14  Posted November 17, 2015 re:  LIM'S Design leather half case with metal grip for the Leica Q.  Ordered from S. Korea on November 12th and I paid for expedited delivery.  Case arrived via Fedex on 17th November and is well designed and constructed. The black aluminium grip is part of the base. No taxes were applied by the UK authorities.  Cost including fast Fedex delivery was £85.95 That's a leather case including an integrated grip.  Highly recommended Ebay seller (imkshop). lanetomlane Posted November 20, 2015 Share #15 Â Posted November 20, 2015 Thanks for the recommendation iJeff. I've just ordered one, all I need now is the Q to go in it. Shouldn't be much longer as I'm number two on the list at Stephens Photo in Manchester. Â Regards, Tom
Notman Posted November 21, 2015 Share #16 Â Posted November 21, 2015 This case blends in with the camera beautifully. It is a work of art.
