cirke Posted March 10, 2016 Share #521 Posted March 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I do not get the point of ignoring the many statements of Leica officials that an M will stay a rangefinder. I agree totally : an Electronic Range Finder will be great
Advertisement Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Hi cirke, Take a look here New Leica M in September 2016? The speculations.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted March 10, 2016 Share #522 Posted March 10, 2016 But they are not saying which kind of rangefinder... aha...

Rick Posted March 12, 2016 Share #524 Posted March 12, 2016 Leica: Make an EVF M and any other type of M that people want. But, make one with just a RF, for me. Rick
Paul J Posted March 14, 2016 Share #525 Posted March 14, 2016 Two practical and realistic things I really do want and need are 1/8000 shutter (16000 would be a plus) and a decent flash system.
CheshireCat Posted March 14, 2016 Share #526 Posted March 14, 2016 +1/8000 I know that 1/8000 is considered a "pro" feature, but I think it would greatly benefit also M users
Peter H Posted March 14, 2016 Share #527 Posted March 14, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Please Leica, make it possible for me to calibrate my lenses to the body. Sending the camera away for weeks to ensure accurate focussing needs to be consigned to the past. And I don't want to have to buy an EVF camera just to accomplish it. pico Posted March 14, 2016 Share #528 Posted March 14, 2016 +1/8000 I know that 1/8000 is considered a "pro" feature, but I think it would greatly benefit also M users What will 1/8000 give you that 1/4000 will not. Realistically.
lct Posted March 14, 2016 Share #529 Posted March 14, 2016 Been used to shoot at 1/8000 with my D70 in 2004 . Same with my old 5D1 from 2005 or something. Same with my current A7s. Would be great to not feel limited when i use a Leica.
CheshireCat Posted March 14, 2016 Share #530 Posted March 14, 2016 What will 1/8000 give you that 1/4000 will not. Realistically. Will give me a 1 stop ND filter for all my lenses, that does not need to be carried, mounted/unmounted, cleaned, and does not impact image quality. It's bright, out here. And I like shallow DoF for many subjects. I would love 1/16000 too.
jaapv Posted March 14, 2016 Share #531 Posted March 14, 2016 I did use it on the M8.

algrove Posted March 15, 2016 Share #534 Posted March 15, 2016 So, please, give us base ISO 100 instead of 200 AND 1/8000s. Why not just go to ISO 50 and be done with it.
don daniel Posted March 15, 2016 Share #535 Posted March 15, 2016 Similar to the SL? They will first say, ISO goes from 50 to 50'000 and then admit; ISO 50 is pulled and not basic.
satijntje Posted March 15, 2016 Share #536 Posted March 15, 2016 I did use it on the M8. I still use it on my M8 :-)

Hahah, no, actual base ISO 50. Not marketing ISO 50 (which is ok for JPEG shooters).
lct Posted March 16, 2016 Share #538 Posted March 16, 2016 Why not just go to ISO 50 and be done with it. To avoid noise at 1600 iso i guess.
Paul J Posted March 16, 2016 Share #539 Posted March 16, 2016 a real 50 ISO would be awesome.
ski542002 Posted March 16, 2016 Share #540 Posted March 16, 2016 Hello: I feel the fidelity of the SL, in spite of it's sensor's smaller size, is better than the A7rMKII. The sensor fidelity of my M240 is better than my Canon body, IMO. Like it or not, some professionals require a higher MP count for certain applications. Wouldn't it be of benefit to Leica to allow for it's customer to have a larger MP sensor retrofitted (exchanged) to an existing body, the SL and the new M? I know that a larger MP sensor requires more processing power, etc., but one would think that having this advantage would make an expensive Leica body, more of an option to a shooter that is concerned about obsolescence.
