Adam,

most of my Australian Landscape photographs were shot on non-Leica cameras so you'll just have to suffer, but Ill see what else I can find on film

Geoff,

those photos of Remarkable Rocks (Kangaroo Island, SA) for the uninitiated are indeed remarkable!

Is the unnamed spit of land connecting the North and South of Bruny Island?

I completely understand and you ameliorate my suffering by posting some of those images in the I LIKE FILM thread from time to time  :p

I've spent a lot of the afternoon looking through these, and still have a way to go.

I just wanted to say, Mark that shot of Uluru back near the start is the best image I've seen of the rock, hands down.  I know it's the most cheesy touristy image, but yours is breathtakingly good.  Not to say I don't like the others, I do - it's just hard to take a picture which is fresh of such a photographed place.

And Dee, there is something about your processing that I absolutely love.  I hope one day you can show me what you do.  Really good thread!

Geoff

Haven't seen pics of Remarkable Rocks, as good as yours.

Lovely tones, and mystery.

cheers  Dave S

PS I'm going to make a guess... near Newcastle??  P'raps further north?

Hi David. That frame with the narrow isthmus is Bruny Island off Tasmania (joining north and south). To left of frame there is a penguin nesting location complete with viewing hides. This is a fabulous part of the country to visit and not only for the photographic opportunities. Sparkling clean air and I think nothing between you and the Antarctic than clean ocean. Fresh produce like berries and (farmed) salmon, local oysters, artisan cheese and crusty bread ...you get the idea ;-)

Now I need to go back and only this week received a shipment from the Bruny Island Cheese producer ;-)

Shepherd, sheep and dogs. I have posted this before, but perhaps it's so typical of the Monaro landscape, in it's winter colours of beige and blue, that maybe it's worth another look (?)....

Mummm! Bruny  Is. sounds great.  We are planning a road trip to Tassie next year, when she retires...so will stop for oysters then  Might even get some landscapes...as I've just about run out due to my recent introduction to the Leica system.

I can't begin to equal Mark's wonderful, Australia-wide grand vistas, but here is a mini grand vista from our backyard; the Bombala river, winter 2015.

The Bombala is an interesting river, brimming with trout and platypus. Downstream it joins the Delegate river, and then flows into the Snowy.

Mmm, isn't that a pleasant scene;  and no canola in sight! (being Winter of course)

Man-Merino-Kelpie works very well too. The red man draws the eye to the lovely dogs.

Goodonya Dee, cheers Dave S

Dave,

Thanks! This is a canola free zone! Sheep (and cattle) are doubtless more work than cropping...but infinitely more rewarding in every way.

The dog whisperer in the red jacket is my sister, with her are her four exceptionally talented sheep dogs, three Kelpies and a Boarder Collie.

Cheers to you,

Dee

Lovely photograph and scene. The pastel colours (courtesy of the 75 Summilux?) are beautiful.

I don't know about that Dee. The Monaro (your back garden) is a spectacular vista.

The big open spaces again Mark...one of your signatures.  Next stop New Zealand across the Tasman.

Colour suits the weird colours of the coming storm.

Indeed, the colours you see are accurate with the sun coming in under the approaching hailstorm I got caught in...
