-JV- Posted September 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got mine today and took some "test" photos before charging the battery. I opened photos with LR CC and noticed there is five blue vertical lines in every photo. Also some bright lines and white pixels occurred. Screen capture from LR, 100% crop from lower left corner. Advertisement Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Hi -JV-, Take a look here S (typ 007) sensor fault? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erlingmm Posted September 5, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2015 Looks bad, possible dead pixels (remapping), should be returned
jip Posted September 5, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 5, 2015 Could also be your battery that needs to get to it's optimum.
erlingmm Posted September 5, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 5, 2015 ...or LR not yet optimized for 007?
CheshireCat Posted September 5, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 5, 2015 Smells like dead pixel columns. Bummer.
jaapv Posted September 5, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 5, 2015 IIRC Leica has a dedicated sensor remapping service for the S. Call Wetzlar.
-JV- Posted September 6, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted September 6, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) It goes back to leica and hopefully i get new one. When, nobody knows that... I hope this has nothing to do with shipping delays, but if it has, there might be long wait again.

Sorry to hear that....
xiaubauu2009 Posted September 6, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 6, 2015 Sad.
peterv Posted September 6, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 6, 2015 Looks like (rows of) bad pixels, or something else fishy with the sensor. Just swap it for a good, new one. I would not except software remapping with a brand new camera, as jaapv suggests.
-JV- Posted September 7, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted September 7, 2015 Good and bad news! I will get replace camera (good) but when, only Lord knows that (bad). I got full refund while waiting so it may take long time. What i'd hear, production line of 007 is halted until problems are solved. My instincts says it'll take months... So something good and lots of bad.
ynp Posted September 7, 2015 Share #12 Posted September 7, 2015 Very sad.
peterv Posted September 7, 2015 Share #13 Posted September 7, 2015 Okay, they need time to work something out. I'd say it's good they're on top of it. This is Leica, the new S is going to be a great camera, I'm sure. If the production line of 007 really is halted, this is news. I wonder how long it takes the other fora to catch on about this. -JV- Posted September 7, 2015 Author Share #14 Posted September 7, 2015 Information about halting the production came from retailer. I asked how long it takes to get replacement, that's what he told me. He was talking with Leica's staff earlier today.
Bill W Posted September 8, 2015 Share #15 Posted September 8, 2015 I cannot imagine that one instance of a bad sensor would cause a halt to the production unless there are other reported ones we are not aware of. A lot of folks on this forum were waiting for this camera and I know a lot have received theirs so I would guess we would have heard of more.
-JV- Posted September 8, 2015 Author Share #16 Posted September 8, 2015 This was second hand information so i can't proof it anyhow. I really hope this is just one camera affected so we get ours in near future. There was also words "production transfers" what might relate production halting somehow. peterv Posted September 8, 2015 Share #17 Posted September 8, 2015 I say give'm time. From what I've seen so far, this is going to be a great, legendary camera.

RVB Posted September 9, 2015 Share #19 Posted September 9, 2015 I say give'm time. From what I've seen so far, this is going to be a great, legendary camera. Mine arrive at the dealer today so it seems unlikely that there is any delay in production!!
