Advertisement Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Hi keithlaban.co.uk, Take a look here NEW M.. This year.. This Fall.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cirke Posted August 20, 2015 Share #482 Posted August 20, 2015 If it wouldn't have been for the defective sensor cover of the M9, I doubt Leica would have sold as many M240s. they would be dead
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted August 20, 2015 Share #483 Posted August 20, 2015 My info could well be wrong, but I understand you might be in for a disappointment. A little bird tells me, however, that there is something in the pipeline though apparently not a new M. Your not listening. I already told you what Wolfgang said.......... Just wait and see [emoji3]
colonel Posted August 20, 2015 Share #484 Posted August 20, 2015 Your not listening. I already told you what Wolfgang said.......... Just wait and see [emoji3] And stop taking all pictures until this mythical camera is announced I mean it's all about consumption not photography right? jrp Posted August 20, 2015 Share #485 Posted August 20, 2015 I think Leica understands that any upgrade on the M240 will be incremental and that it won't generate the expected sales as most M240 users are content with what they've got. Perhaps it's too early for a new M. But never too early for a new interchangeable lens Q. Think about new system, new lenses, etc. Even if they just replaced the innards (sensor, cpu, EVF) of the M240 with current parts, it would be a significant leap forward (High ISO performance, ability to focus off centre). In the meantime, I am making do with the latest Sony, which also has image stabilisation. This, including the additional resolution, opens up the viable shooting envelope significantly, at the expense of wide angle lens corner performance. Stretches the compact Leica M lenses to their limits, but there are few native lenses with notable performance readily available (beyond he 55 and 35). The 25 Batis looks promising, and not too heavy. It will be better then that the 24mm Summilux, and rival the 24mm f3.4, if the MTFs are to be believed. jmahto Posted August 21, 2015 Share #486 Posted August 21, 2015 And stop taking all pictures until this mythical camera is announced I mean it's all about consumption not photography right? Forget taking new pictures... I am deleting my existing pictures. They will be taken again with new camera. Can't wait.
Likaleica Posted August 21, 2015 Share #487 Posted August 21, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Whatever it is, I understand it may well make more than a nod towards those that have R mount lenses?? robert blu Posted August 21, 2015 Share #489 Posted August 21, 2015 Not too much but enough money in my pocket, a few (confused) ideas, three Leica shops within one hour driving from my home and ...I have to wait till september... robert, just joking a little bit ... Jennifer Posted August 21, 2015 Share #490 Posted August 21, 2015 Intriguing, Jennifer. How reliable is your "source?" No sleep tonight. Reasonably, but not as good as my prime source who predicted the month of release of the M246 several months in advance

tobey bilek Posted August 22, 2015 Share #493 Posted August 22, 2015 Since the subject of Leicas and selfies has been raised...a moment of silence in fond memory of the inventor of the arms-length-wide angle-selfie, the late Al Kaplan. Back before cellphones had cameras (or most of us had digital cameras) he used to shoot selfies along with a toy stuffed monkey, using a 15mm CV lens on a Bessa LTM body. Maybe some people here remember him and his portfolio of selfies. He used to post on RFF and I think before that, photonet. I do miss Al. He smoked heavily so let that be a warning. Exodies Posted August 22, 2015 Share #496 Posted August 22, 2015 It could be worse - we could be here arranging adulterous relationships. Or perhaps we are in our weird nerdy way.
brill64 Posted August 23, 2015 Share #497 Posted August 23, 2015 someone here (apologies for forgetting whom) mentioned an new R adaptor for the Leica T. i'm with him on this for new releases. any new modifications to the M would be modest but nonetheless a very pleasant upgrade to those wanting one, nothing too outlandish or life changing is my guess. the M will remain faithfully an M. Leica are so smart & lovingly traditional in this respect.
screwmount Posted August 23, 2015 Share #498 Posted August 23, 2015 What strap will you use on the coming new camera? And does anybody know when the half cases and the thumb up will be available??
AndreasAM Posted August 23, 2015 Share #499 Posted August 23, 2015 Ah, finally a T-R adapter. I've been waiting for this a while now! Perhaps I should explain the intended, triple, meaning in my post, stated above in reaction to the introduced rumour from Jennifer, down below Whatever it is, I understand it may well make more than a nod towards those that have R mount lenses?? First I really would like to see a T-R adapter for the T. The available combination T-M/M-R is cumbersome and not worthy for an intended full grown system that the T should be. But I am sceptical that Leica will produce one now. Second, as I understand, many former R-system (me included) users have the feeling to be left out by Leica a long time ago, so the rumour for a new solution for the existing R-lenses on a digital camera, is regarded as to little to late. A lot of R-users moved on to other platforms, or using them on a other Leica camera, be it M or T, or even as I understand it on the S. Third, I personally find the T a good solution for now, better than an M, to use the R-lenses with, because of the excellent EVF and flexible UI, with programmable dials, although it is APS-C format. But I like it very much with pleasing results. All the speculation (guilty as charged) of a new Leica FF-system, with a T-mount, with EVF of the Q-quality, or even a hybrid OVF/EVF (not to mention a opto-electronic Rangefinder) gives some thought of an improved possibility to use R-lenses. An innovative T-R adapter with a possibility to open up the aperture when focussing and stopping down for the shot (automatically, or by a flip of a switch like the R-bellows) would be an elegant solution. But I think it is all pie in the sky. someone here (apologies for forgetting whom) mentioned an new R adaptor for the Leica T. i'm with him on this for new releases. any new modifications to the M would be modest but nonetheless a very pleasant upgrade to those wanting one, nothing too outlandish or life changing is my guess. the M will remain faithfully an M. Leica are so smart & lovingly traditional in this respect. So yes, just a new T-R adaptor for the T, or a real digital R, or a new next generation FF T-mount camera system, as rumoured, but with a innovative T-R adapter (or T-M adapter for that matter, see my earlier posts) would give me what I want for some years. But seeing that nobody is feeling the urge anymore to react to Jennifer's rumour in this thread, I can see the Irony, threefold. Not going to happen, I think.
