Finally introduced my S2 + 70CS to a live music environment, photographing a local act called 'Clementine Valentine'.

Unfortunately it didn't like it and mid way through the first song it proceeded to to tell me the card door was open (when it wasn't) and lock itself up so I couldn't shoot any more...

But, before that happened I did get this photo!

As each new S camera was introduced the comparisons for low light shooting said the S2 could not do this.  I am glad to see it could, beautiful image!

Curious also about resolution of card door/lock up issue.

Nice. What ISO? Did you try removing and replacing the battery when the camera locked up?

And she's a lefty!

Max ISO (1250iso) under exposed by a stop if I remember rightly? And yes, replaced the battery, replaced the memory card, still locked up. I luckily had my regular concert kit in the car so rushed back between the support and the main act and was able to shoot the rest of the show.

Thanks so much! No resolution on the card door issue as yet. I have no confidence in Leica NZ being able to help, the last correspondence I had with them they tried to sell me an SL2 battery for my S2, so I might drop Leica Australia a line and see if I can send the body to them for fixing, or advice at least.

I am not familiar with the workings in NZ or Australia.  Here in the US all S gear is shipped to Germany for repair, maintenance etc.  I have had past success writing an email to customer service in Germany, they have been very responsive.  Good luck!
