You will love it.

Well I found one (V2) from a seller in HK. Body 8 Glass 9++. Took a chance and it arrived a week ago (4 days from ordering in HK!!). Glass is a 10. Body is an 8+++ (maybe 9).

I'm very pleased. Works great. Calibrated well. Coded. Box and leather case. Everything feels tight and solid. It's quite stiff to get on and off the camera body. But that's the only complaint.

So I have absolutely no desire for any more Leica lenses.

I expect that feeling to last one or two more days at least.......

As I most enjoy shooting landscapes, I would like to own a 35 mm Leica M lens that has a flatter MTF profile, does not exhibit any signs of field curvature and has edge to edge sharpness.  I believe the newish 35 mm ZM Zeiss f1.4 lens satisfies this criteria but appears too large and heavy.  I just wish there was a 35 mm Leica M Lens that was a similar size and exhibited the same MTF characteristics as the 24 Elmar and 50 mm APO Summicron aside of it.

As you mentioned Zeiss what about the v2.8/25 ZM Biogon and 2.0/50mm ZM Planar?

Thanks for your reply Mark.  I actually own the 50 mm ZM Planar which fits the bill and nicely complements my 50 mm ASPH Summilux; both are excellent lenses.  I have read very good reports about the v2.8/25 ZM Biogon, but am very satisfied at this focal length with my 24 mm Elmar lens.  I just have an issue with the intermediate 35 mm focal length.

I had the 25 Biogon and replaced it with the 24 Elmar which I think is the better lens.

Contrary to some reports I'm very happy with the 1.4/35 Summilux ASPH (FLE) as a landscape lens (printing up to A2) . Yes, it's more expensive and has more field curvature than the new Zeiss but is a spectacular lens nevertheless. Perhaps its worth a try if you've not yet done so.

I actually have the 1.4/35 Summilux ASPH pre-FLE lens which renders wonderfully but has some field curvature similarly to the FLE.  Although the latter is supposed to be sharper, I have not felt inclined to update my lens.  I did try the Zeiss ZM 35 f2.8 Biogon which had more even sharpness, but IMO it just seemed to lack the sort of textural image type quality that I get from my other lenses.

The 2.8/35 ZM Biogon is a very high contrast lens.

I've not used the pre-FLE 35 Summilux but Puts commented in his Leica Compendium that for most photographic situations the upgrade was not worthwhile.

I'm sure there are some APOs I'd like to have but I don't really care that much. Just got a 24 Elmarit so that's off my list, leaving the the one unattainable Noctilux .95. I think more then any lens I'd really love to have the 60 year M

My next target is the SEM. And maybe next year, if I manage to save enough, the 50 APO. The macro-elmar is in my radar too. Mister GAS is lurking around the neighborhood.

28 'Lux. I bought it...just need the thing to show up! :)

lI've got an obscene amount of glass for Nikon F mounts, but that's for work. For my personal use, I wanted to travel lightly...two M bodies w a lens mounted to each (28mm/50mm), and possibly a Noctilux....I'm awaiting the announcement of the next version to check it out.

so...long story short, I have the two lenses I need (or will when it gets here), leaving the Nocti as the only one I want....for personal use.

Want to buy: none right now

Might buy later: 90 Summicron AA, 21 SEM

Would like to test: 50 APO Summicron, 28 Summilux, Zeiss ZM 85/2, Zeiss ZM 15/2.8

I'm happy with what I have, no real reason to look for more...

But, I would like to try:

28 Lux, 50 AA, 90 Macro

Vintage:

75 Lux, 35 Lux pre-ASPH, 50 Rigid, 40 Cron

Realistically, the next purchase will probably be the Voigtlander 35/1.7 VM. If not satisfied, I will get the ZM 35/1.4

If money was no object:

60/1.2 Hexanon
