Leicameters being repaired

Leicameters can still be repaired by Knoch Messgeraete in Nurnberg, and I sent them an MC and MR that are now being serviced. I bought these meters for $1 each, so the unworking meters can be purchased for very little.

Servicing and calibration is not a small investment (the price of several good lunches), but I figured this specialist service may not be available much longer (parts and people are fading away) so I "bit the bullet".

The MR will be re-calibrated for a modern 1.55 volt silver-oxide battery (S625PX or equivalent) that is available for about $5 worldwide, so this meter can be used for many years with my M3.

And I will always have the Leicameter MC as backup, if batteries disappear.

Thanks for the information.   Not knowing about Knoch, i sent my MR to Quality Light Metric Co. in Los Angeles a few years ago.   Very thorough cleaning and adjustment, adapted battery, all for the cost of a ''Hollywood'' lunch.  :o
