.......And... where is it written it's Autofocus ?................

Luigi, isn't there an AF setting shown on the lens barrel in the leaked images  ;)

(Sorry, Edward just beat me to it )

The Q features a faster lens and I assume better high ISO capabilities, so we probably see up to +3 EV compared to the RX1.

+3 EV ?

Unlikely.

The lens is just half a stop faster, and the ISO 50000 thing smells a lot like marketing hype.

The camera looks wonderful...  :)

It maybe a test unit for future M models (aluminium instead of brass, new ergonomics, more powerful processor and EVF, etc.).

I like a lot all the small changes (compared to M bodies).

This is very exciting.  I have toyed with the idea of getting one of the more recent X models, but with only an external EVF, it doesn't suit the way I shoot.  And while having an M and a Monochrom renders this somewhat superfluous for me, the Q could be a fantastic camera for a dedicated street shooter who wants something a little smaller.  While the T didn't appeal to me, and the X had drawbacks (ultimately too big to fit in a pocket, no built-in EVF), if this is priced well ($4k or less, likely) it could be the Goldilocks camera -- not too big, not too small, usable with Live View or held to the eye, fast lens, high ISO.  Again, exciting.

This does more harm than good.

Just include a certified SD card in the box.

The extra flash may not really be for you but rather there because the chip that Leica uses has it already and the firmware only takes up a portion of the space.

So with embedded you have often have A image and B image and you flop between them. That way if something goes wrong during the update you don't brick your embedded device and need a JTAG to bring it back. On the T, I bet that they actually have something like 32 or 20GB of flash and the firmware images takes up the other part and the 16 is just leftover. So they make it available to store images.

What at harm does it doe?

In summary, from what we have been told, we have a camera with a fixed focus 28mm lens ... and lots of faffing around with sensors, ISO, EVF, etc.

I'm not sure if this is how you meant it, but I found your comment to be rather humorous. Thanks for the laugh. :-)

On point, though, I think you're right. It appears to be a camera with a fixed focal length (though hopefully variable focus distance) lens with all of the limitations that such a design entails. To most people, such cameras aren't the right tool. To others, anything else would represent a significant compromise. As far as I'm aware, that describes both the rumored Q camera and the current M system. It all comes down to which limitations we judge to be features and which features we judge to be limitations.

On topic, if the rumored Q represents the general design direction that a future entry-level M camera might take, then I, personally, might buy such a camera, new from a dealer, rather than a used M 240. That'd be good both for me and the company that I want to stay in the market.

Cheers,

Jon

Memory is cheap, but using 32GB chips to store a camera firmware is overkill. Firmware size for embedded devices is measured in MB, not GB.

The bad: the more you write on a flash, the more the risk of failure. Firmware flash failure means a bricked camera.

The ugly: having to connect the camera to the computer to download pictures... If you remembered to bring the right cable with you :)
