psquared Posted May 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) From Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson. Margay (Leopardus wiedii), a small, house-cat size cat native to the Central and South American rainforest. Resting Pacing "Looking at me?" Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis), a closely related and larger cat than margay. He/she wasn't very active that day. I don't blame him/her. It was 106°F (41°C) that day! An even larger bobcat (Lynx rufus) All with R9/DMR with either 180/2.8 APO (margay) or 280/4 APO (ocelot and bobcat). topoxforddoc Posted May 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2007 Peter, lovely shots. No 1 is my favourite - the tree trunk acts as a great frame leading you into his face and eyes. thanks for showing Charlie
jmr Posted May 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2007 Peter, very nicely captured with good colour and light.

stuny Posted May 14, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 14, 2007 Peter - These are delightful, but I'm with Cahrlei - #1 is my favorite for the reasons he writes. The ocelot seems very young. It's been many years since we've been to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, but we remember it fondly.

psquared Posted May 14, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted May 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Charlie, John, Bill, Stuart, and Marcus, Thank you all for your comments. The museum, actually it's a combination of small zoo and botanical garden, was fascinating, even in a 100-degree weather. As far as nailing the eyes, let's just say I took just a few more pictures to get these few with eyes in focus. Peter
