earleygallery Posted February 9, 2015 Share #9 Posted February 9, 2015 Hi, I just noticed your Croydon affiliation, is the Croydon Airport still there? At one time it was a very famous destination............. Hi, it is and it isn't! The old Airport terminal building remains and is now offices (I worked there for a while too), although the entrance hall retains most of the original features. The airfields are now open parkland - a couple of stretches of runway can still be seen. I've read memoirs of RAF pilots from WW2 who would base themselves in some of the nearby houses which were mostly deserted, to keep out of the main target area when the Germans flew over! So long as I don't think about the cost, I'm enjoying it very much - more so than any other camera I've owned so far. I look forward to seeing how I get on with it. Herr Barnack Posted February 11, 2015 Share #19 Posted February 11, 2015 ...cheaper than the Rolex That depends on the Rolex.
